Every province and territory is different, so you may not find every answer you’re looking for here. However, we can tell you this:
In Ontario, the province will cover CPAP machines and related supplies if you qualify for the Assistive Devices Program. Visit the Government of Ontario's website to learn more.
In Quebec, the Quebec Health Insurance Plan does not reimburse CPAP units, but costs relating to the treatment are eligible for partial refunds under the medical expense tax credit. Visit Revenu Quebec’s website to learn more.
For any other province or territory, A CPAP machine might be an eligible benefit of your plan if you meet specific medical criteria. Coverage of an initial CPAP machine can be approved for people diagnosed with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea as evidenced by an AHI score of 15 or higher.
To find out if you're eligible, visit the official website for your provincial or territorial health program. If you can’t find it, try searching for “CPAP eligibility” along with the name of your province or territory.
